It is an artistic representation of how everyones perception on what it means to be happy changes. I need lots of answers to this question, whatever I use remains anonymous. Would you be able to tell me what your idea of happiness is? In as many or as little words as you'd like! It would really help me out a lot as I need many differing and creative answers. If not that is fine too :)

ah sorry i’ve not properly checked my messages in so so long!

My idea of happiness is being truly grateful. Counting your blessings and having a firm grip on how lucky you are in the grand scheme of things. I think people in western society quite often forget that, and subsequently search for happiness in other materialistic things. But happiness is just being content with what you have i think! That’s not to say you shouldn’t strive for more, but that’s a different topic so i’ll leave it there aha. Hope that helps?! x

Words.

Words are incredible. They can instruct, inspire, advise, uplift, empower, persuade, create, and more. But they are just words. A man-made form of communication; mere fragments of the entire picture - what truly goes on behind our eyes.

“You’re going to come across people in your life who will say all the right words at the right times. But in the end, it’s always their actions you should judge them by. It’s actions, not words that matter.” - Nicholas Sparks

There is this strange stigma attached to mainstream music especially amongst teenagers, that it is ‘uncool’, because it is so manufactured and manicured almost. As a result of that, the artists which are deemed ‘cool’, suffer as no-one really wants them to be successful to the point of becoming mainstream (including themselves sometimes) which is really sad. The top 40 is in a horrendous state in terms of artistry and true musical expression - it is all shiny shiny formulated crap, but until people stop buying into it, i can’t imagine much will change!

7

Aquarius, and yeah but they’re all worded so cleverly that they’re never wrong.. i don’t like being put in a box! i’ll be whatever i wanna be haha x

PLEASE!!!!

01: Your current relationship, if single discuss how single life is.
And it’s not entirely down to me being lazy or lacking sharpness. I just don’t like pristine.

Our generation seems to idolise the plastic, the photoshopped and the fake. Vanity has gone through the roof and as a result has only left people more self-conscious than they already were.
Plastic surgery for instance - an incredible medical development that was initially invented to ensure victims of severe burns, acid attacks or any other horrific injuries could to an extent, repair their scars to what once was. Lovely stuff.
But sure enough, those lucky enough to have not been scoulded jump at the opportunity to use another tool in which to ‘perfect’ themselves. The rich and often famous inparticular - who in turn (because society allows them to) portray and define what so called ‘perfection’ is.

Why don’t we embrace our imperfections?

My sister once told me that all her favourite things in the world were tattered and beaten; her second hand record player for example, because as scratchy as it sounded, it was imperfect, honest, endeering. It’s true for most people i think - ancient crumbling buildings with their vast history, your favourite pair of trainers that are now more hole than actual shoe, et cetera et cetera…

I guess what I’m trying to say is, we should be proud of these physical inperfections; our own personal embellishments. We are human; we are unique - and we should rejoice in that fact.

I’ve been living on £1 a day this week for the Live Below The Line scheme.
I initially decided to take part in order to save money for myself (and raise money for charity in the process), but it’s been a real eye opener into what is deemed as extreme poverty. My £1 a day has been spent solely on food, not taking into consideration my accommodation electricity useage, phone bill etc (that’s what live below the line is, i’m not cheating aha).
It’s unimaginable what some people go through day to day.
I’d thoroughly recommend anyone else to give it a go, for the experience, discipline, and to raise money for charity in doing so. Win win!

If you have a minute please click the link and have a read. The ones who tackle day to day endeavours not comprehending the potential impact of their supposedly insignificant kind actions; the domino effect that may just kick start a revolution. There is so much beauty at grass roots level. Beauty that is so often overlooked as it is carried out with no inherent seeking of praise or gratification. The insouciant selfless act. Humanity in it’s purest form.

These are the unsung heroes.

Creatures of Vision

We are creatures of vision.

Not just through what we see; but what we can imagine, what we can dream - what we dare to create.

The importance of the visual has been repeatedly drummed into me throughout this year. How we as humans, although blessed with 5 senses (although Stephen Fry and the QI people would argue many more), are so visually lead.
It’s been said that over 70% of all communication is through body language. From as simple a thing as a smile indicating satisfaction, down to the subtle subliminal indications of what direction you look in. (I recently learnt that an innate habit of humans is to look to the left when thinking of the past; dwelling on a memory etc - and to look to the right when anticipating something) Crazy.
Anyway. As amazing as that all is, I think it’s sad. Sight doesn’t have to just be what objects are present infront of you. Sight can be shutting your eyes and imagining something incredible that you’ve not yet seen. Sight can be being amazed by everything, rather than picking it all apart.
We are often blinded by the aesthetic expectations of the society we’re in; so a wash with media culture and shit TV.

I shut my eyes and night and wish for people realise how blessed they are, and what they’re truly capable of.
